Dr. Robert Logan

Dr. Robert Logan is a Senior Advisor to the Laboratory Director and Senior Fellow at the Center for Global Security Research at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. He contributes to the formulation of LLNL strategic initiatives to enhance National Security and to sustain the nation's nuclear deterrent without nuclear testing. He also supports new programs in response to emerging threats to global stability and national security. Prior to joining LLNL, Logan supported the LLNL Global Security Directorate in the Global Initiative to Combat Nuclear Terrorism, Nuclear Forensics, Cooperative Threat Reduction, Nuclear Nonproliferation, and the Cyber Security Initiative. Logan also served as a consultant to the University of California, Office of the President for the management of Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) and LLNL. He also served briefly as Acting Deputy Director, Argonne National Laboratory.

Over the past 20 years, Dr. Logan managed and implemented innovative approaches to achieve success in national security programs. He contributed to enhanced performance throughout the US nuclear weapons complex for the Stockpile Stewardship program. He supported the Defense Threat Reduction Agency Cooperative Threat Reduction programs to eliminate WMD in the Former Soviet Union. Logan assisted the DHS Domestic Nuclear Detection Office and other agencies to establish a Global Nuclear Detection System. He also supported the US Chemical Weapons Demilitarization Program and WMD nonproliferation programs. Dr. Logan has extensive experience in many of the most pressing security issues facing the U.S. and the world, such as national security, deterrence, diplomacy, dual-use technology, arms control, nonproliferation, peacekeeping, cyber defense, and energy security. Logan received his doctorate from the University of California, Berkeley.
