Amanda Tobey is a research associate at the Center for Global Security Research at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and an M.S. candidate in global security, conflict, and cyber at New York University. Her research focus is on the militarization of cyberspace, hybrid warfare, and private sector involvement in cyberoperations.

Amanda co-presented “Sanctions Enforcement in the Age of Cryptocurrency: The Nuclear Case” at the Cybersecurity Awareness Worldwide Conference and won third place in its Cyber Policy Competition. She is currently consulting for the Air National Guard and New York City Cyber Command on cybersecurity concerns and is a member of the NYU Cyber 9/11 Team.

Previously, Amanda worked in the federal government, a unicorn startup, and open-source intelligence. She holds a B.A. in international affairs with a concentration in security policy from George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs.
