Dr. Cliff Chen

Dr. Cliff Chen is a Fellow at the Center for Global Security Research at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. His work focuses on developing frameworks and building international capacity for nuclear arms control verification. Dr. Chen also works in Global Security directorate on systems analysis and technology development related to verification issues.

Dr. Chen joined LLNL as a research scientist in 2014. He previously worked in the area of short-pulse laser-plasma interactions at LLNL. He holds a PhD in physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a BS and MEng in engineering physics from Cornell University. Dr. Chen has also previously held internships at the State Department’s Office of Multilateral Nuclear Affairs and at the Science and Technology Policy Institute.
