Desiree Reed

Desiree’ Reed is a First-Class Cadet at the United States Air Force Academy interning at the Center for Global Security Research (CGSR), Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. At USAFA, Desiree’ majors in Foreign Area Studies/ Political Science with a focus in Africa and minors in French.

Her research at the CGSR focuses on the impact of emerging and disruptive technology on great power competition as well as the benefits and risks of these technologies. Desiree’s other research interests include American hegemony, Chinese influence in Africa, and African climate change initiatives.

Upon graduation, she hopes to become an Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Air Force.
