Eric Sanderson is a research associate at the Center for Global Security Research (CGSR) at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). He graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in global affairs and a Russian language certificate. Eric commissioned from Yale's Air Force ROTC program as a distinguished graduate and earned the Secretary of the Air Force Leadership Award.

His research at CGSR involves Eastern European security and development. As a Boren Scholar, Eric spent the 2017-2018 academic year studying political science and Russian literature at Daugavpils University in Latvia. In 2018, he was selected as a John Kerry fellow, which included conducting research and organizing conferences with Secretary Kerry. During his senior year in 2019, his capstone project worked with the 3rd Special Forces Group to develop an economic and political analysis of the Sahel region. After finishing his work at CGSR, Eric will go on to the Air Force Special Warfare Training Wing to begin his career as a Tactical Air Control Party Officer (TACP-O).
