Sam Weaver is a research associate at the Center for Global Security Research (CGSR) at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. His research focuses on the geopolitical implications of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs). He is currently pursuing an M.P.A. in international finance and economic policy with a technology specialization at Columbia University, School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA).
Prior to CGSR, Weaver was a project manager at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, where he implemented geostrategic training programs for government officials, foreign diplomats, and private sector executives. He also holds a B.A. in international affairs from the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) with an emphasis in Middle East policy. While there, he interned with the Tahrir Institute for Middle East Policy and the American Chamber of Commerce in Jordan.
