Shezad Lakhani is an analyst at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
Prior to his work at the Lab he spent almost a decade in the U.S. government assessing macroeconomic conditions in South Asia, and how economic drivers impacted U.S. interests in the region. He has also published on South Asia economic issues as an independent analyst. Following his work in government he worked in the banking sector ensuring compliance with sanctions and export control regulations, with a focus on Russia and China.
His current research interests at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory include how economic policy restrictions are understood and implemented by the private sector, and U.S. technology cooperation with ally countries.
He holds a BA in Political Economy from the University of California-Berkeley.
