Eleanor Mount

Eleanor Mount is an undergraduate Intern with the Center for Global Security Research and LLNL’s Cyber Defenders Program. Her research here examines the relationship between law and computer encryption technology, particularly in relation to balancing the individual right to privacy with the state’s interest in national security.

Prior to coming to the CGSR, Eleanor completed a project analyzing Mass Surveillance case law in the European Court of Human Rights. She presented her research at the University of Washington 2017 Undergraduate Research Symposium.

Eleanor is currently pursuing a B.A. in Law, Societies, and Justice and Political Science with Honors at the University of Washington. After her summer with LLNL, Eleanor will be returning to Seattle to complete an Honors Thesis with the University of Washington Department of Political Science.
