Aurora Lopez is a Research Associate at the Center for Global Security Research (CGSR) at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Her research interests include strategic competition and nuclear proliferation in the Middle East. At CGSR, Aurora is exploring how the withdrawal of U.S. troops and deteriorating relationship with the Middle East could impact regional dynamics.
Aurora is a recent graduate from UC Berkeley, where she earned a Bachelors in Political Science. Prior to CGSR, Aurora participated in the Critical Language Scholarship, an intensive study abroad program taught by Moroccan professors to learn Arabic. She also interned with the Department of State, where she helped Foreign Service Officers with leadership and conflict-management training before they headed to their placements.
