Madison Hissom

Madison Hissom is now a Fellow at CGSR.

Madison Hissom is a Graduate Student Research Intern at the Center for Global Security Research (CGSR) at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. At the CGSR, his work assists the "New Dynamics of Long Term Competition" project as he focused on how intelligence programs assess proliferation and other emerging technological threats.

Before the CGSR, he received his M.A. in International Studies from North Carolina State University in 2018 with a specialization in security studies and nuclear nonproliferation. During this time, he was funded by NCSU’s Consortium for Nonproliferation Enabling Capabilities, sponsored by the NNSA. He has worked as a research intern for the Henry L. Stimson Center’s Nuclear Security Team in Washington, D.C. and has a B.A. in economics and German language from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
