Mike Gaines, CGSR Research Assistant

Mike Gaines is a Research Assistant at the Center for Global Security Research (CGSR) at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. He plans to explore the value of alliances under the liberal international order and their effect on deterring bad actors.

Mike Gaines is a 3rd year PhD Fellow at the Pardee RAND Graduate School and an Assistant Policy Researcher at the RAND Corporation. Prior to that Mike was a consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton at DIA/USAFRICOM, a Diplomatic Security Special Agent at the Department of State, and a US Marine. He has a Master's Degree in Strategic Intelligence from the National Intelligence University (where he was also an associate instructor), a Master's Degree in Logistics Management from the Florida Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor's Degree in History from the University of Memphis.
