The annual Strategic Weapons in the 21st Century (SW21) conference is co-hosted by Los Alamos and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories. This conference provides a forum for policy makers and experts from multiple disciplines to engage in substantive dialogue on diverse topics with an eye to better understanding the nature of strategic conflict in the 21st century and the intersections of technology, strategy, and policy. The 10th annual conference focused on deterrence and assurance in a changed and changing world. The participants examined the deterrence strategies of Russia, China, and regional challengers like North Korea and their implications for the deterrence and hedge strategies of the United States and its allies.
