The Center for Global Security Research (CGSR) is hosting a talk entitled “An Informal Roundtable Discussion on “Strategic Stability in South Asia: Recent Developments.” Following the lecture there will be a question and answer session. The talk is open to all Laboratory employees.

The fragile security environment in South Asia is marked by territorial disputes and radical extremism. If there is another major terrorist strike with credible evidence of state sponsorship, India will be forced to retaliate militarily, though the response will be carefully calibrated. However, any military retaliation runs the risk of escalation to a larger conflict with nuclear overtones.”
