Sarah Sobalvarro is a Research Associate at the Center for Global Security Research at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). Her current interests lie in tracking the development and transfer of Generation IV and dual-use nuclear technology to the Global South.
Sarah is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Security Studies at the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. She holds a BA in International Relations from the War Studies Department at King's College London. Her undergraduate dissertation focused on the security risks stemming from state-led commercial nuclear export programs to non-nuclear countries, a topic which she presented on at RUSI’s UK Project on Nuclear Issues 2024 Annual Conference. She has previously interned at the Wilson Center and at the Bureau of International Security and Nonproliferation at the US Department of State, where she conducted open-source research on foreign nuclear technology programs.
