Emily Cheesman is a Research Associate at the Center for Global Security Research at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). Her work supports CGSR's "The Future of Cooperative Strategies to Reduce Global Dangers" project, with a focus on extended deterrence and conventional conflict.
Previously, Emily interned at LLNL within the nuclear threat reduction program, researching nuclear safeguards. She has also interned for the U.S. Department of State and was a Young Fellow at the Nuclear Nonproliferation Education and Research Center (NEREC) in Daejeon, South Korea. She holds a B.S. in International Politics and minor in Russian from Georgetown University.
