Caroline Kearney

Caroline Kearney is a Research Associate at the Center for Global Security Research (CGSR) at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Her research examines North Korean state media for insights into its nuclear weapons program and safety protocols.

Caroline is a PhD candidate in Korean Studies at Yonsei University, specializing in the analysis of North Korean state media to assess shifts in the regime’s stance toward the United States. Previously, she was a U.S.-Asia Grand Strategy Predoctoral Fellow at the University of Southern California's Korean Studies Institute. She has authored analysis for NK Pro, the Institute for Security and Development Policy, and Jeju Peace Institute. Prior to her work with NK Pro, she organized dialogues and workshops on Korean Peninsula issues at an NGO in Cambodia.

She holds an MA in Global Affairs (Conflict and Development) from George Mason University and a BA in Political Science from Troy University.
