Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory

Arnika Chidambaram is a Graduate Student Research Intern at the Center for Global Security Research (CGSR) at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.

Her interest in nuclear engineering stems from her undergraduate internship experiences at Sandia National Laboratories, where she pursued research in radiation detection, health physics, the neutron generator enterprise and nuclear nonproliferation. These formative experiences led her to pursue both technical and non-technical nuclear areas of interest.

At Berkeley, her research focuses on Generation IV Nuclear Reactors and fusion. At CGSR, she investigates systems approaches to arms control verification and country-specific reactor development capacities. When she’s not in school, she enjoys learning to sail on the San Francisco Bay and going to Cal football games.

She is currently pursuing her M.S. in Nuclear Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, and holds a B.S. in nuclear engineering from the University of New Mexico.
